Medical marijuana - Cannabis Oil
Medical Marijuana (also known as Medical Cannabis) is now available to all patients residing in the Kingdom of Thailand. Origene Clinic is the Official Center of Medical Marijuana in Eastern Thailand; managing 5 provinces along the eastern seaboard: Chonburi, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
In association with The Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO : องค์การเภสัชกรรม), Origene Clinic prescribes concentrated cannabis oils to all patients, Thai or foreign, residing in the Kingdom of Thailand. GPO Cannabis Oil is formulated according to international standards, approved by Thai FDA, and only distributed by licensed medical marijuana centers like Origene Clinic in Pattaya, Thailand.
CANNABIS PRESCRIPTION
GPO Cannabis Oil is controlled by Doctors of Medicine (M.D.) and they will issue qualifying patients an official prescription and Medical Certificate; which allows legal usage within the Kingdom of Thailand.
The specific type and strength of Cannabis Oil is prescribed according to patient’s disease, symptoms, and medical history.
Foreign patients that have already been using medical marijuana in their home country are encouraged to bring their previous prescriptions and/or medicines for our Doctors to review.
ORIGENE Clinic will try to continue treatment programs from another country or adjust medication strengths as needed.
EFFECTIVE USAGE
GPO Cannabis Oil is most effective when used under the tongue (sublingual).
Absorption rates of cannabis oil used under the tongue is significantly higher than swallowed into the stomach (ingestible consumption).
Smoking or vaporising cannabis gives patients an immediate effect, however, peak results are significantly lower than oils absorbed under the tongue.
WARNING & PRECAUTION
Patients should exercise caution when using unauthorised marijuana in Thailand.
Homemade cannabis oils, edible cannabis products, and dry cannabis flowers are illegal in the Kingdom of Thailand.
Unauthorised cannabis medicines may contain pesticides, heavy metals, or other contaminants from plastic equipment used in production.
PATIENT REQUIREMENTS
- Original Passport
- Medical Reports within the last 6 months
¹ Patients can consult with licensed cannabis Doctors and receive an opinion, but the distribution of cannabis oil will not be permitted without original passport identification.
² Long-term usage of concentrated cannabis oil may be harmful to the liver and kidneys.
Before treatment with cannabis oil, patients must submit a baseline result of the liver and kidney function.
Required test results include: CBC, AST, ALT, sCr, and GFR (download the list here). Origene Clinic will accept test results within the last 6 months.
If patients do not have test results, a standard blood test of 700 THB will be required and administered in-Clinic.
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
A medical certificate is a certified document that grants patients the permission to use cannabis in the Kingdom of Thailand.
ORIGENE Clinic provides medical certificates in Thai and English language for usage such as: health insurance reimbursement, travel requirements, work/school obligations, and general treatment overview.
Medical certificates have expiration dates and will follow the course of treatment prescribe by the Doctor.
Patients may also use medical certificates at the airport when departing Thailand with GPO Cannabis Oils.

Patients diagnosed with cancer, chemotherapy induced nausea/vomiting, neuropathic pain, alzheimer’s disease, parkinson’s disease, or prescribed according to Doctor’s recommendations.
CBD OIL
Patients diagnosed with epilepsy, skin cancer, migraine, inflammation, Crohn’s disease, dysmenorrhea, seizures, or prescribed according to Doctor’s recommendations.
THC : CBD OIL
Patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, spasticity, chronic pain, insomnia, or prescribed according to Doctor’s recommendations.
